CJAO Scholarship Program

About the Scholarship

The CJAO provides financial recognition to students who demonstrate community involvement and exceptional performance in a program of study related to criminal justice at a recognized Ontario college or university.


Available for 2025/26, there will be two
$1,000 scholarships available to undergraduate students — one stream for college students and one stream for university students.

Eligibility Criteria

  • $1,000 per scholarship

  • 1-year membership with the Canadian Criminal Justice Association

  • 1-year membership with the Criminal Justice Association of Ontario

Application Process

Please provide the following:

  1. Current transcript for program of study;

  2. A letter of recommendation demonstrating academic achievement and/or community involvement;

  3. One-page statement from the applicant outlining:

  • The applicant’s experience working/volunteering in the field of criminal justice (in your own words, explain the positions held and lessons learned in those positions);

  • How those work/volunteer placements have shaped the applicant’s educational goals (or vice versa); and

  • The applicant’s future education or employment goals.


Disqualifications

  • E-application packages must be received no later than 23:59 hours on due date.

  • Packages that do not meet the deadline will be disqualified.

  • Application packages that do not contain the criteria listed above will not be evaluated.


  • Applications found to be generated with the use of Artificial Intelligence will not be considered.
